what started as a bit of a rant has now become a personal passion…an ever-developing moodboard of sorts…the name custardbydesign has been sounding out to me from within since I graduated with an honours degree and a bachelor of design in interior architecture from napier university, edinburgh…since then my career has taken me from edinburgh, to antrim and to dublin where projects included bars, hotels and office fit-outs as well as sitting on the committee for ‘the interiors association’ and contributing to ‘inside’ magazine…now I find myself in the united states of america where I hope to find work and continue my career…
ah mise...don't tell me you've something on legs with a drawer or maybe worse...a door...
and here's me thinking you might at least have an old apple crate or something...
i've a notion lorna over at garrendenny might be able to loan you a milking stool or something until you find an appropriately sized galvanised dustbin...
during my super 'poverty days', when i first moved to manhattan (with absolutely nothing) i had no headboard. so.....it reminds me of those first days on my own in the city.... pretty wild and happy times.
renee...you were wild and happy and way ahead of the times - sans headboard...
sarah - ah, i went all coy there for a millisecond... wit and charm and a fabulous blog... would ya whisht...thanks for the compliment and i do hope i'll be seeing your comments here more often...
I second Sarah above, first time visiter to your blog after following a link from Homebug!
I too am currently rockin' a 'sans headboard' look right now. The main reason is that I can't afford one, but now I'm going to tell people that the reason for my lack in headboard is that they are so passé and I that I totally saw it coming :)

I wish I had a galvanised dustbin for my bedside table. I feel so conventional now.
