the colloseum...

what can i say...blood, guts, gore, gladiators and ancient romans...all of this with tickets similar to modern day systems assigned to doors and section numbers and could seat up to 50,000 spectators...the predecessor to our modern day stadiums...unmissable folks...

again there is a wealth of writings available online and no doubt we've learnt alot as architects and designers in architectural history classes about this place so i'm not going to dwell too much on this subject...

my final posting from my trip to rome and i must say...i think my most favourite thing about rome...oh and gelatto...

Fabulous pictures, & loved the ones of you two with your gellato! Can you hear my sigh's of jealousy from the U.S.? I have not been to the colloseum (Rome) since 1975. I do think I am long overdue. Thank you for sharing your incredible pictures. Enjoy your last day!

I'm sure the only difference between now and then is that you have to pay now to see it...

i had a wonderful trip in Rome DT and i threw my coins in the Trevi Fountain so hopefully i'll be back one day...

I once saw a doco on TV about the Colloseum, which was brilliant. I am so looking forward to visiting in September. Of course will have a gelato!
