with suites costing up to $11,000 for one night...italian designer giorgio armani opened his first signature hotel in the worlds tallest tower last week...
when asked by the chairman of dubai's giant property developer, emaar, to design the hotel, giorgio armani's reply is reputed to be ''are you sure you really want me?"...
designed in plain shades of black and brown, it occupies space on the ground floor of burj khalifa and on floors one to eight, with the luxury suites on floors 38 and 39...on levels nine to 16 is the armani residence, apartments designed by giorgio armani and sold to private buyers...
the hotel has no paintings on the walls in an attempt to “keep it simple and elegant,”...
i do like it...however, i do think i'd expect a lot more bang for my buck to stay at an armani hotel...has the designer edge edged its class and distinction out of the market?...
not impressed giorgio...i expected so much more 'wow' and 'oomph'...

I'd love to stay here!
i wouldn't mind a night there myself...
it does define the branad...class, elegance, sophistication, luxury...
i'm not faulting that...i just maybe expected something with a little extra panache...
it didn't blow me away...
