starckly different and temporarily venetian...

i'm a massive fan of philippe starck...and did he pack a punch with the palazzina grassi in venice...

he has converted a former aristocratic home into a hotel...

the entrance is marked only by a bull's head...and behind a door lies an imaginative hotel featuring 16 bedrooms, 6 suites, a members-only club and a stunning restaurant...all designed to make guests feel temporarily venetian...

this is philippe starck's first italian hotel...along with his unique flair, starck has included traditional italian touches such as exposed bricks and custom made murano glass features along with transparent glass wardrobes, and in the dining room there are two 7metre long dining tables - one made from marble and one made from mirrored glass...

as usual...the images paint the rest of the picture...

Feck! That Starck fella is good. Listened to his TED talk last night. You might be intersted. It's almost 'Allo Allo' but also an interesting insight into the mindset of this extradordinary designer.
