for the ex pat...

an ex pat asked me what they could to do add a subtle touch of ireland in their home without being cheesey or too derivative...

i thought that a print of an old irish stamp would be a lovely feature on a wall or a sideboard...a nice understated touch...

surely they available as a print somewhere...

what do you think of that idea...?

kilmeaden cheesy as opposed to calvita cheesy but still a little too cheesy methinks, I'd suggest perhaps an original artwork from a living irish artist

I'm sorry to have to say it mr. custard but i don't.
There's just something about the map and or flag of ireland that is just so cliched when used as 'decoration' . Maybe if the image which i admit is iconic ,was taken a bit further .....

re living artist ..... me of course !!!!

ooops...

when we get sorted in our house after our wedding we may have a wee chat with you about a wee feature panel...

i see what you mean about the iconic overuse of the map and the flag...

twa have a range of vintage posters for 'visit ireland' but i thought that was cheesey...

i was watching the kentucky derby on saturday while i saw your cheesey comment and i thought to myself 'horses for courses'...

do you like will st leger's 'ameireica' print...

aha - will st ledger is very tongue in cheek...

i think my favourite image has to be michael collins carrying the dior / gucci bags...

i wanted to gt a print from him but he says on his website that he doesn't mind if you download and print for your own use...

thats very nice of him isn't it...
