luxury...

anytime i was ever in london i always made a quick trip into 'armani casa' on bond street...

just for the craic...not that i was ever buying...i was always inspired by the ideas and notions of luxury and exclusivity and grandeur and being special...


and inspired i was...

today i saw a feature on the coolhunter via facebook and i thought they posed a very interesting question...


"If luxury brands all want to sell the idea of exclusivity and being special, then why are their identities so similar?"

so...what do y'all think and what are your ideas and perceptions of luxury...???

Maybe it's a piggy-back idea Richy as in if Valentino brand is associated with, as you say, luxury and exclusivity, then my little old Ralph Lauren logo will be associated with chic because it looks similar (Similar graphic: strong, elegant, what-have-you). You're getting into the pshchology of branding and graphic design I think. Just stick in Custard-by-Design in there with that lot and see how it sits. Of course, they'll all be dying to be associated with you if you get the exposure and street cred and cyber traffic to be envied - Fickle marketplace...Next thing you know, you'll be gettin your pitcher took with that ould Karl Largerfield ;)-Kickham Kid
