fayetteville wine cellar is a delight to visit...a mix and match of old meets new...
the building has clearly had a previous life...and the present owners have ackowledged this...the floor is a red brick laid floor with a herringbone pattern for the most part...there's the odd spot here and there that has given way, there are massive steel beams that span the space, a beautiful chandelier that hangs over the entry way and then 2 smaller chandeliers in the private party room...
the striking stone clad bar and back bar snakes its way through the centre of the space, and cork clad pendant lights hang over the top of the bar counter...
a subtle colour palette used throughout adds touches of glamour - lush velours in golds and reds emphasise the natural colours of the stone and bricks...
not only does the wine cellar offer a stylish sophisticated environment to enjoy a nice glass of vino...but it boasts an 'enomatic' wine serving system...
it works a bit like this...
"Each customer can get a pre-loaded smartcard from a server which can then be used on the Enomatic machine sample a variety of wines. To try a wine, simply insert the card in the Enomatic card reader for a taste, half glass or full glass of the desired wine..."
i think there are 24 wines to sample and enjoy...we dilly dallied our way through 4 half glasses last night...quite the experience indeed, we both loved it...the servers were also very friendly and were able to talk our way through the various wines on offer...
